Hope and Question Marks Entering Spring Training
The warm sunshine, the fresh cut grass, the sound of the ball hitting the mitt, these are the things we baseball fans all dream of in the dark winter months. Finally, the time is here as spring training has begun in Surprise, Arizona. A new season is approaching. There is something special about the hope of a new season. The hope that your favorite player can have a career season or the hope that your team can grind through 162+ games and end up winning the last game of the year. Hope is never a
Joe Barlow Back With The Rangers
On February 16th the Rangers signed Joe Barlow to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training. Joe Barlow was with the organization in 2021-2023. In 2021 and 2022 Barlow was used as a leverage arm and even closed games logging 24 in the two years. In his rookie year Barlow logged a 1.55 ERA in 29 innings with 27 strikeouts. In 2022 Barlow tossed a 3.86 ERA in 35 innings with 28 strikeouts. However, Barlow was designated for assignment on July 30th in 2023. Barlow in 2023 threw 9 2/3 i
Rangers reunite with reliever Luke Jackson on 1 year deal
The Rangers came to an agreement on a 1 year deal with Free Agent RHP Luke Jackson on Monday. Things have now come full circle for the righty as he now rejoins the team that took him 45th overall in the 2010 draft. Jackson would then spend the next 4 years in the minors before making his debut with the club in 2015, but would only make 15 appearances with the Rangers between 2015 and 2016 in which he hand a woeful ERA of 8.50, before being shipped off to Atlanta in the following winter. Chris Young's Bullpen Reconstruction
Going into the offseason I think everybody knew that the bullpen was going to be the main focus of the Rangers offseason moves. With numerous free agent relievers available Chris Young had his work cut out for him. Chris Young has made a flurry of reliever signings. First, Chris young started out with signing former Seattle Mariners prospect Luis Curvelo who is currently 24 years old. He started his pro ball career in 2019 in the Dominican summer league. He has a career minor league ball ERA of
Free Agency Refresh Vol. 4
It's been a bit longer than anticipated to get this volume out to everyone, and we certainly have plenty to catch up on when it comes to MLB Free Agency. Several of the key names have signed, though two major targets still remain available as we are one week away from pitchers and catchers reporting to Spring Training. Pete Alonso and Alex Bregman, both represented by Scott Boras, remain unsigned and unlikely to return to their longtime teams at this point. The Mets have definitely made a splash

Rangers Options at the Closer Position
With under three weeks until pitchers and catchers report for spring training the Rangers are roughly 6 million dollars before the luxury tax according to Roster Resource, meaning they are likely done doing any major signings so they probably won't sign a closer. However, President of Baseball Operations Chris Young has said they will stay open minded and will make a move if it makes the team better. Going into the offseason the Rangers addressed that they were not going to go over the luxury ta
How did the Rangers do in Keith Law's Top 100 Prospects?
At 7:20am this morning The Athletic posted an article by Keith Law about his top 100 prospects in baseball. Law has covered the sport since 2006 and prior to that was a special assistant to the general manager for the Toronto Blue Jays. With MLB Pipeline and Baseball America's top 100 lets see how the Rangers faired for Law's top 100 prospects Sebastian Walcott He ranked Walcott as the number 2 prospect in all of baseball. It is safe to say he is very high on Walcott as are all of Ranger fans.
Texas Rangers: Case for a 6 Man Rotation
The Texas Rangers are set to enter 2025 with one of the most talented and deepest groups of starting pitchers, for them, in recent memory. They have a legit top of the rotation ace and eight guys with MLB starting experience but this is also a fairly unique group that could require a fairly creative plan to get them through the season. With several guys coming off significant injuries it’s likely that load management will be a priority so that as many guys as possible are available come Septembe
When to expect Sebastian Walcott's MLB Debut
The Rangers might have another superstar on their hands. Sebastian Walcott is the most hyped up prospect since... Wyatt Langford. While yes, it hasn't been a long time since a mega prospect burst onto the scene, Walcott has something that sets him apart from Langford. The fact that is he only 18 years old. Walcott will turn 19 before the minor league season starts, but what he has done so far is unbelievable. When the Rangers signed him in 2023 for $3.2 million, there were scouts saying that h
