The Frisco RoughRiders have two more players that have been promoted to Triple-A Round Rock. Starting pitcher Tim Brennan and catcher Matt Whatley. Right-hander Tim Brennan has appeared in 10 games with 5 starts. He has a 2-3 win-loss record with a 3.09 earned run average in 32 innings pitched. Frisco gets eighth shutout of the season
Last night, the Frisco RoughRiders got timely hits and great pitching in their 6-0 victory over the San Antonio Missions. It was their eighth shutout of the season. Frisco's offense got it going early in the top of the 1st thanks to a solo shot from Dustin Harris. It was his team-leading 14th home run of the season. The RoughRiders line-up hit two home runs in Sunday's early afternoon game but it wasn't enough to lift them past the Arkansas Travelers (Mariners). The RoughRiders lost 8-4 but won four games of the six game series. This is the first series in June the RoughRiders have won. Frisco, TX- 5,358 fans braved the 97 degree gametime temperature to see the Frisco RoughRiders take the field as the Dallas Black Giants. The RoughRiders welcomed Bob Kendrick, President of the Negro Leagues Baseball museum to Riders Field to help celebrate Juneteenth. The Surprise Saguaros needed a win against the Desert Dogs to make it to the Arizona Fall League Championship game. They sent Rangers right-hander Owen White to the mound- who without question was the best pitcher in the AFL (he won pitcher of the year). The Surprise Saguars are in the win column yet again with their 5-1 win over the Javelinas and move to a league-best 9-3. The RoughRiders lost 6-1 to the Amarillo Sod Poodles in front of a 6,675 fans at Hodgetown. The RoughRiders move to 63-54 and the Sod Poodles move to 58-60.
