The Round Rock Express secured a 6-3 victory over the El Paso Chihuahuas. Veteran pitcher Johnny Cueto (2.40 ERA) delivered an impressive performance, pitching six innings and allowing only three hits and two walks while striking out six. Cueto earned the win and could be Arlington-bound if the Rangers face another pitching injury.
Yerry Rodriguez contributed two scoreless innings, extending his scoreless streak to 5.1 innings with four strikeouts and one walk.
Grant Wolfram (4.91 ERA) closed out the game with a scoreless ninth inning to earn his first save after Blake Taylor failed to record an out.
The Express managed six runs on five hits, with Jonathan Ornelas (.259) being the standout at the plate, going 2-4 with an RBI. The game saw significant drama as Chihuahuas’ catcher Kevin Plawecki, second baseman Nate Mondou, and manager Pete Zamora were all ejected by third-base umpire Kelvis Velez in the third inning.

The Frisco RoughRiders extended their winning streak to six games with a 5-2 victory over the San Antonio Missions, strengthening their lead in the Texas League South with a 31-17 record.
Starter Ben Anderson (4.82 ERA) pitched five innings, giving up two runs on five hits and three walks, striking out two. Andy Rodriguez followed with two innings of relief, allowing two hits and one walk with a strikeout. Bryan Chi sealed the win with two innings, striking out one.
Offensively, the RoughRiders scored five runs on nine hits. Frainyer Chavez (.221) tied his season-high with three hits, while Liam Hicks (.248) went 2-3 with an RBI and a walk. Josh Hatcher (.314) added two RBIs with a 1-4 performance, and Keyber Rodriguez (.290) chipped in with an RBI, going 1-3 with a walk.
Winston-Salem Dash 5, Hickory Crawdads 2
The Hickory Crawdads fell 5-2 to the Winston-Salem Dash. Starter Mitch Bratt pitched five innings, surrendering two runs (one earned) on two hits and two walks, striking out six. Jacob Maton (2.84 ERA) struggled out of the bullpen, allowing three runs on four hits and one walk over 1.1 innings.
Skylar Hales provided 1.2 innings of relief, striking out four while allowing one hit and one walk.Despite the loss, the Crawdads tallied 11 hits. Cam Cauley led the way with a 3-5 performance, including his second stolen base of the year. Sebastian Walcott and Anthony Gutierrez both went 2-4.
The Crawdads’ record now stands at 19-29.
Down East Wood Ducks 6, Fredericksburg Nationals 3
The Down East Wood Ducks triumphed over the Fredericksburg Nationals with a 6-3 win. Starter Kohl Drake, a 2022 draft pick, pitched four innings, giving up one unearned run on four hits while striking out seven. Paul Bonzagni provided four innings of relief, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks with six strikeouts.
Luke Savage earned his fifth save with a scoreless ninth inning, allowing one hit and striking out one.
The Wood Ducks’ offense was efficient, scoring six runs on eight hits. Wady Mendez stood out with a 2-3 performance, scoring twice and stealing a base. Echedry Vargas, Erick Alvarez, Arturo Disla, and Tommy Specht each contributed RBIs.
The Wood Ducks improved to 26-21 with the win.
ACL Rangers 16, ACL Guardians 4
The ACL Rangers dominated the ACL Guardians with a 16-4 blowout, highlighted by a seven-run second inning and a five-run fourth. Starter Brendan Morse (5.68 ERA) pitched three innings, allowing one run on three walks. Adonis Villavicencio (2-0, 0.00 ERA) earned the win with four strong innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out four.
The Rangers’ offense exploded for 16 runs on 14 hits. Jose De Jesus (.209) went 2-3 with two RBIs and two walks, Braylin Morel (.226) finished 3-6 with two RBIs, and Esteban Mejia (.391) went 2-5 with two RBIs and a walk.
Angel Arredondo (.243) also had a stellar game, going 2-4 with three RBIs and two walks. Yeremi Cabrera, boasting a 1.186 OPS, went 1-2 with two stolen bases.
The ACL Rangers are now 11-9.
