The Texas Rangers are promoting of one of their top pitching prospects, Alejandro Rosario, to the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders.
This move, reported by Chase Ford of MiLB Central, comes at a crucial time as the RoughRiders approach the final week of their regular season and prepare for the postseason.
Rosario’s promotion is well-earned, as the right-hander has been impressive the entire season, excelling at both the Low-A and High-A levels.
Rosario’s Dominance with Down East
Alejandro Rosario started the season with the Low-A Down East Wood Ducks, where he posted a 2.11 ERA over 10 starts. In 47 innings pitched, Rosario demonstrated excellent control, issuing only 5 walks while striking out 69 batters.
Opposing hitters managed a mere .200 batting average against him.
Success Continued in High-A Hickory
Rosario was promoted to High-A Hickory on June 25, 2024, where he also dominated. In 8 games (7 starts) for the Hickory Crawdads, Rosario maintained a stellar 2.40 ERA across 41.1 innings.
His command remained sharp, with only 8 walks issued and an impressive 60 strikeouts. These numbers mirrored his earlier success with Down East.
Rosario has been exceptional this season, averaging 1.3 walks per nine innings and an eye-popping 13.1 strikeouts per nine innings.
His ability to limit walks while generating strikeouts has made him a standout in the Rangers’ farm system.
Drafted and Signed by the Rangers in 2023
Alejandro Rosario was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 5th round of the 2023 MLB Draft out of the University of Miami.
He signed with the team on July 18, 2023, and has quickly climbed the ranks within the organization.
