Today the Rangers reinstated Yohander Mendez and added him to the 60 man Summer Camp Roster.
Mendez had been suspended in March for seeking unauthorized outside medical care. He had not played in Spring Training due to left shoulder inflammation.
President of Baseball Operations Jon Daniels had been asked about the suspension and stated, “There’s a lot more to it than that, but I’m not going to get into it.” No further information was released.
Mendez only participated in three games last season due to trouble with his elbow. He is expected to be optioned to Nashville this year.
The Summer Camp roster is now at 58.
