Express run out of outs in a 9-8 defeat!

The Round Rock Express suffered a devastating 9-8 loss to OKC at Dell Diamond, surrendering 7 runs in the final 2 innings to erase the lead and lose the game.

Late-Game Collapse

The Express were leading 6-2 in the top of the 8th when reliever Dane Acker took the mound. Acker struggled, giving up 4 runs, allowing OKC to tie the game.

Barlow Falters in the 9th

In the top of the 9th, with the Express holding a slim 7-6 lead, Joe Barlow (L, 0-2) (BS, 1) came in but couldn’t hold the lead, surrendering 3 runs. This marked the second straight night of late-inning struggles for the Express bullpen, as reliever Jacob Latz had given up 3 runs in the 8th the previous night while leading 5-4.

Starter’s Solid Outing

Starting pitcher Adrian Houser had a strong performance, pitching 6 innings, allowing 2 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and recording 3 strikeouts, but the bullpen couldn’t save his effort.

Carter’s Late Homer

The Express offense produced 12 hits, highlighted by a solo home run from Evan Carter in the 9th inning in his only at-bat of the game.

Contributions Across the Lineup

Blaine Crim went 1-for-5, extending his hitting streak to 12 games. Justin Foscue went 2-for-4, while Cody Freeman also went 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs, bringing his season total to 10. Alan Trejo contributed 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs.
