That's a player doing damage in just about every phase of the game — for average, for power, and on the bases.
Wiel isn't new to performing on a big stage. He's made two Little League World Series appearances, in 2022 and 2023, where he also saw time on the mound. These days, though, he's focused on shortstop, and his summer performance suggests that decision is paying off.
What stands out with Wiel beyond the numbers is his poise on the big stage and his versatility across the diamond, traits that fit the mold Texas has prioritized in recent international classes.
He's set to compete next at the Senior League Baseball World Series, running August 1-8 at the J.B. Red Owens Sports Complex in Easley, South Carolina, another chance to build on the track record he's putting together.
