It hasn't taken Kaden Carpenter long to make a good impression. The Hickory first baseman/outfielder was named Carolina League Player of the Week for August 24-30.
Carpenter, 23, batted .389 (7-for-18) with two home runs, two triples, a double, six RBI, and nine runs scored in six games against Wilmington last week. The left-handed hitter walked six times against five strikeouts over the stretch.
He led the Carolina League in on-base percentage (.577), slugging percentage (1.000), and total bases (18) since August 24. Carpenter was Texas's ninth-round pick in the 2026 MLB Draft out of Utah Valley University.
He has reached base safely in nine straight games since August 21, posting a .583 OBP over that span.
Through 27 games with the Crawdads, Carpenter is slashing .253/.410/.538 with six home runs, 17 RBI, 20 walks, and 28 strikeouts.
