Kumar Rocker continued his dominance of the Texas League as the Frisco RoughRiders a 4-0 shutout victory against the Midland RockHounds (Oakland Athletics affiliate). Rocker, who has been flawless since his promotion to Double-A, delivered yet another brilliant outing, showing why he’s one of the Texas Rangers’ top pitching prospects.

He issued no walks, and 41 of his 51 pitches were strikes, including 15 swing-and-misses. The right-hander also induced two groundouts and two flyouts. He was hitting 98 in the 4th with the last batter he faced with a called 3rd strike on a breaking pitch.
Kumar Rocker’s Double-A numbers so far
While it’s a small sample size, Rocker has yet to allow a run in Double-A, posting 11 scoreless innings with just five hits, one walk, and 16 strikeouts. He’s got a 0.429 WHIP.
The RoughRiders’ offense got off to a quick start, scoring three of their four runs in the first inning, giving Rocker the cushion he needed to work efficiently.
Alejandro Osuna contributed to the effort by going 2-for-3, while Max Acosta led the charge with a 3-for-4 performance, driving in one of the four runs.
After Rocker’s departure, Andy Rodriguez (2-1, 1.89 ERA) picked up the win, tossing two scoreless innings of relief, allowing just one hit and striking out one.
Ricky DeVito, Seth Clark, and Skylar Hales each contributed a scoreless inning, sealing the shutout victory for the RoughRiders.
With this win, the RoughRiders improve their record to 66-40 on the season. As for Rocker, his numbers so far in Double-A have been nothing short of remarkable.
