In a game that took 3 hrs 5 minutes the Round Rock Express outlasted the Sugar Land Space Cowboys and won 6-3 that even up their record at 2-2! #16 of The Prospect Times prospect pitcher Zak Kent (W, 1-0) went 3 innings, giving up 2 hits, ZERO runs, 1 walk and 3 strikeouts! The Frisco RoughRiders announced today that they will open the season with Jack Leiter and Owen White as their 1-2 punch. That's probably the best 1-2 in the Texas League. Jack Leiter is to start the RoughRiders home opener on Thursday, April 6 with Owen White to follow on Friday, April 7th. The RoughRiders are offering a special promotion to honor their starts. Express bats were mostly silent in a 10-2 defeat
The Isotopes wasted no time putting the Express in a big hole early with a 7 spot on the board and OUR Express just couldn’t overcome it! In his first start in a Express jersey, Robert Dugger (L,0-1) was welcomed very rudely, going only 2/3 of a inning giving up 7 runs (5 earned) on 4 hits, 2 walks, 1 strikeout and 2 homers! The Round Rock Express got their first win of the season behind the strong start of Cody Bradford. They won 6-1 behind a combination of 4 pitchers throwing a 5 hitter. Starter Cody Bradford (W, 1-0) went 5.1 shutout innings in what was his Triple-A debut. He gave up 2 hits, ZERO runs, 2 walks, 6 strikeouts - 5 were swinging strikeouts. Today was Opening day for the Texas Rangers Triple-A affiliate, the Round Rock Express. Right-hander Cole Winn was tabbed to start on the mound. It was warm with a partly cloudy night and a light wind blowing. A sellout crowd showed up to welcome the 2023 season. What more can someone ask for except for a win?
