Today the Texas Rangers Organization agreed to deals with two undrafted free agents; Connor Sechler and Fernando Amara. Undrafted Free Agents cannot be signed for more than $20,000
Sechler is a right-handed relief pitcher from Missouri State. In September of 2019 he was suspended indefinitely for a “Violation of Team Rules” though no specifics were given. The 21-year-old was an All-American.
Amara is a high school catcher from Puerto Rico. No information was immediately available on Amara.

John Blake announced on Monday June 15th that the Texas Rangers signed Undrafted Free Agents. Seven of them to be exact, which is not an easy task for $20,000. Here is the latest below.
Nick Krauth
Age: 20 | Height: 6’3 | Weight: 180 | Position: RHP | School: University of Connecticut
In his limited action this year, Krauth had excellent results. In 24.2 innings pitched he had a 4-0 record with a 0.36 earned run average. Batters worked 9 walks and struck out 24 times. Only one of the Fourteen hits allowed was not a single. His WHIP was 0.932
D.J. McCarty
Age: | Height: 6’2 | Weight: 145 | Position: RHP | School: Temescal Canyon High School
Although the sample size is small this year the numbers are excellent. He went 3-0 with a 0.00 earned run average in 17.2 innings pitched. Batters swung and missed 22 times and were held to an average of .117.
The control is something that will need to be worked on as he issued 20 walks giving opposing line-ups a .369 on base percentage.
Brady Smith
Age: 21 | Height: 6’0 | Weight: 195 | Position: C | Bats: R | Throws: R | School: University of Florida
In 15 games this year he slashed a line of .167/.235/.367. He hit 2 home runs and had 7 runs batted in. I read one report that showed he is a good contact hitter and has potential to be a plus power-hitter.
Colton Snyder
Age: | Height: 6’3 | Weight: 205| Position: RHP | School: Concordia University
Snyder went had a record of 1-0. He pitched 16 innings and held opponents to a .254 batting average. He struck out 11 but walked 10 so control would seem to be an issue. The Eagles record was 4-1 during games that Snyder appeared. During High School he played multiple positions in the infield.
Josh Stephan
Age: 18 | Height: 6-1 | Weight: 174 | Position: RHP | School: South Grand Prairie High School
It’s nice to see a local kid get noticed by the Rangers. He had committed to Stephen F. Austin. Stephan not only pitches but plays multiple positions. had to do a double take when I saw the batting stats. In 10 games played, his average was .524 with a .621 on-base percentage and knocked in 8 RBI. On the pitching side he pitched 8 innings and had a 2-0 record with a 1.75 earned run average. He struck out 12 batters while holding hitters to a .107 average.
It has been reported that the Rangers as looking to sign even more Undrafted Free Agents.
