Fellow southpaw Brett Martin came in and struck out the side on 10 pitches.

Right-hander, Nick Vincent pitched a 123 inning in the 4th.

The game was scoreless until the 6th when the Astros Centerfielder Jose Siri hit a solo home run. First baseman, Abraham Toro hit a singled and later scored on a triple by Alex De Goti.

Taylor Jones, 1B, hit a solo home run in the 9th to pad the lead a little. The Astros ended up taking game one by a final of 3-0. Rangers right hander Spencer Patton took the loss. He allowed two runs on three hits in his inning of work.

Even in a loss there are some positives to take away. One of those being, the Rangers pitching staff struck out a total of 16 batters.

At the plate the Rangers alternate training site squad tried to rally in the 9th inning. Curtis Terry and Andy Ibáñez each collected a single. Adolis Garcia worked a walk to load the bases. Astros pitcher Solis was able to escape unscathed by striking out Charles Leblanc.

The next game is set for tomorrow at 4:05 PM at Dell Diamond. Jason Bahr is set to face off against Jake Odorrizi.
