Joey Gallo wins a Gold Glove

At the plate, he didn't have a good season for our Rangers but defensively, Joey Gallo has won a Gold Glove. Gallo didn't shine at the plate but he did in the field. With this win, Gallo becomes the Rangers third outfielder to win a Gold Glove. The first was Juan Beníquez in 1977 and then Gary Pettis in 1990. Defensively, Gallo had a Rdrs of 12 and a fielding percentage of 1.000 so he couldn't have been better. Offensively, Gallo slashed a line of .181/.301/.378/.679 so he will be looking to i

Rangers walk off against the *'s 5-4, Sam Huff homers twice

The Rangers rookie Sam Huff had quite the game. He went 3 for 4 hitting his 2nd and 3rd home runs of the year. Those home runs were key to the Rangers being able to come back with the walk-off win in the bottom of the 10th. The final was 5-4 and they move to 20-38 with two games to go in the season. On the Mound Kyle Cody (1-1, 1.59) started for the Rangers and went 5 innings. He gave up one run on 3 hits, 3 walks and he struck out 1. Really curious to see how he does on the starting rotation

Kyle Cody gets 1st Win and Sam Huff hits his 1st home run

After losing three-games in a row, the Rangers got back into the win column on Sunday with their 7-2 win over the Angels. They move to 19-34 with only seven games remaining in the season. For those on #RockerWatch, the Rangers would have the 2nd pick if the season ended tonight. They are 4 games behind the Pittsburgh Pirates and will not pass them before the end of the season. Some exciting things happened in this win. Kyle Cody earned his 1st career win and Sam Huff hit his 1st home run. Hop

Sherten Apostel makes MLB debut; gets 1st hit

Sherten Apostel made his Major League Debut for the Texas Rangers. Catcher Sam Huff made his debut yesterday. If that doesn't tell us the Rangers are evaluating for the future, I don't know what does. The Rangers just completed a double-header against the AL West leading Oakland Athletics. They won the first by a final of 5-2 and then lost the 2nd by a final of 10-1. 1st game of the double-header The Rangers won the first game by a final of 5-2 with rookie Wes Benjamin (1-0, 4.38) earning hi

Rangers things: Giving up Grand Slams 3 consecutive games

Welcome to another edition of Rangers Things. The Rangers lost in 10 innings by a final of 6-3. The San Diego Padres are running roughshod to the Rangers and their pitching. They have now hit Grand Slams in three consecutive games, which has to be some sort of record. If it is- that isn?t the type of record you want on your resume. The shot tonight came from the bat of Manny Machado against closer Rafael Montero who was pitching into his second inning. Some would argue that decision. Pitching

Joey Gallo powered the Rangers to a 2-0 win over the Angels

The Rangers failed to take advantage of the gifts the Angels provided in the bottom of the 2nd inning but Joey Gallo powered the Rangers to a 2-0 win. He saved the night with a 2-run blast that had an exit velocity of 99.5 and traveled 404 feet. This isn't exactly a play by play recap of the game. It's mainly highlights and some thoughts. Kolby Allard took the mound for the Rangers. After allowing a leadoff double he settled in and took care of business through the first two innings. Allard ha
