Riders Field has been a busy ballpark over the last couple of years, and the 2027 calendar goes well beyond RoughRiders games.

Here is a look at what is on the schedule so far, what is still waiting on an announcement, and the dates worth putting on your calendar now.

Frisco College Baseball Classic: March 5-7 (Friday-Sunday)

The 11th annual Frisco Classic opens the year at Riders Field with Oklahoma, Kansas, Southern Miss and UC Irvine playing a round-robin over three days. It is top-notch college baseball with top teams competing, and it has never disappointed me. I would recommend it to anyone, even if your favorite team is not in the field.

Boom Ball: March 27 (Saturday)

Boom Ball brings its Babe Ruth hologram tour to Riders Field on March 27. According to the tour announcement, the show is a two-hour, co-ed event with six fast-play innings between the Lucky Llamas and Chaos Crew. It closes with a hologram re-creation of Babe Ruth's 1932 World Series "Called Shot."

Boomfest runs 4:30-6 p.m., with first pitch at 6:30. Tickets are handled through a lottery at boomballtour.com. The announcement calls it a two-day stop, but only March 27 is listed for Frisco, so check the tour site for any additional date. Select tour dates have already sold out, so get in the lottery early. I have not covered Boom Ball before, so this one is new to me.

RoughRiders home opener: April 6 (Tuesday)

The RoughRiders open the season on the road, then host the Corpus Christi Hooks on Tuesday, April 6 to begin a home series that runs through April 11. Game times have not been announced yet.

Other RoughRiders dates worth noting:

- Mother's Day: Sunday, May 9

- Corpus Christi returns: June 1-6

- San Antonio Missions: June 15-20, with Father's Day on Sunday, June 20

- Midland RockHounds: June 22-27

- All-Star Break: July 12-15

Celebrity Softball Classic: June 12 (Saturday)

The Celebrity Softball Classic returns to Riders Field on June 12. The 2026 edition, played September 12, paired celebrities with military veterans in a charity game supporting veteran, first responder, children's and family-focused nonprofits, and it ended with a post-game fireworks show. I missed the 2026 edition, but this one is on my calendar for 2027.

Cosmic Baseball: Date TBD

Cosmic Baseball is something you need to experience once. My favorite part was the second half, when the Cosmic portion of the show began. Visually, it is unlike anything else I have seen at Riders Field. The 2026 Frisco stop sold out three nights through the ticket lottery, so don't wait when the 2027 dates are announced.

Banana Ball: Cities to be announced

Banana Ball is the event I am looking forward to most. Frisco has not been announced as a 2027 stop yet, but the city selection show is October 15. I expect Frisco and Arlington to be included, with the Texas Tailgaters hosting a team again. It is non-stop entertainment. I have covered both Frisco stops and the first Globe Life Field series in September 2026, and I will update this section as soon as the cities are out.

My advice for every lottery event on this list is to put your name in early for your chance to buy tickets, especially if you have kids.
