Arturo Disla Promoted to Double-A Frisco
Texas Rangers prospect Arturo "El Búfalo" Disla has been promoted to Double-A Frisco after dominating High-A with a .314 average and six home runs through 30 games in 2026.
We have some movement in the Texas Rangers farm system. Arturo Disla has officially been promoted from High-A Hub City to the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders.
Disla has been one of my favorite prospects to follow since he signed with the Rangers out of Wayland Baptist University. After signing as an undrafted free agent on July 24, 2023, Disla has done nothing but hit, and the start of his 2026 campaign with the Spartanburgers was too loud to ignore.
He isn't far removed from a 19-home run season in 2024.
The 2026 High-A Stat Line through 30 games this season
- AVG: .314
- OBP: .434
- SLG: .559
- wRC+: 156
- HR: 6
His 156 wRC+ indicates he was performing 56% better than the league average hitter, while his .437 wOBA underscores just how valuable his plate appearances have been for the Hub City offense.
He was a beast in college at Wayland Baptist. Over two seasons he slashed .400/.462/.751/1.212 with a total of 29 home runs and 113 RBIs.
The Rise of "El Búfalo"
Beyond the box score, Disla has become a massive fan favorite, earning the nickname "El Búfalo." Standing at 6'2" and 240 lbs, the moniker fits his physical presence and the sheer force he brings to the plate. The nickname became such a staple of his identity in Hub City that the team has a bobblehead of him riding a "Buffalo" that they are slated to giveaway on May 19 to the first 1,000 fans.
I'm looking forward to finally being able to snap my own shots and seeing what he can do at the Double-A level. The jump to Double-A is often considered the most difficult transition in minor league baseball.
In Frisco, Disla will face more refined pitching and advanced scouting but I think his bat is ready for the challenge.
