Bruce Bochy is the Texas Rangers new manager

The Texas Rangers have hired former San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy to be the team’s next manager. The Rangers are bringing in Bochy for three seasons, and he’ll be the 20th full-time manager for the franchise in their history. The club announced that hiring on Friday morning, after weeks of speculation about who would take over for interim manager, Tony Beasley.

The Rangers are bringing in Bochy for three seasons.

This is a great move for the Rangers. They are bringing in a manager with a proven track record, and he will be with the team for at least three seasons (2023-2025). Bochy did an excellent job managing the Giants, who won three World Series during his tenure as manager, including one against our Rangers in 2010.

Bochy’s success is due to his ability to get players on board with his strategies and motivate them through difficult times, something that the Rangers have struggled with recently.

Bochy will be the 20th full-time manager for the Rangers franchise in their history.

  • Bochy will be the 20th full-time manager for the Rangers franchise in their history and 25th overall since moving to Texas.
  • He also owns a career record of 2003-2029, a .497 winning percentage.

The Rangers are lucky to get Bruce Bochy.

You’re not alone if you want to celebrate the news of Bochy’s hiring. It’s a great move for both parties: Bochy gets a shot at his first job as manager since retiring from the Giants, and the Rangers get an experienced skipper who can help guide them back to contention.

Chris Young deserves a ton of credit for being able to convince Bochy to come out of retirement to lead this team that is on the back end of a rebuild.

Conclusion

The Rangers are fortunate to have Bruce Bochy as their manager. He has had an illustrious career as manager and played previously as well and I believe he is the right hire to help the Rangers become contenders once again. The players are going to love playing for him because, as we already mentioned, he has managed teams to three world series championships.

This is just the beginning of what is sure to be another busy winter for the Rangers. The Rangers have one of the best farm systems in baseball. They’ll likely be able to acquire some additional talent from there via trade and will surely be busy in the free agent market.
