Predictions are fun; especially when we are stuck at home in quarantine waiting for baseball to return. I continue to hope there will be some sort of minor league season this year. I thought it would be fun to make my own line-up with the current players showing on their roster. I am going to include one of the Rangers top prospects, Sam Huff because many expect him to start the season in Frisco.

This post is just for fun as we are put ourselves in manager Bobby Wilson’s shoes. Be sure to vote on which line-up you think is best at the end.

Heath’s Line-up

Taking the mound for the RoughRiders is right-handed starting pitcher, Jason Bahr. In 12 games last year in Frisco he was solid and ended with a 4-3 record with a 3.23 earned run average. Bahr has experience and has good numbers from last season and that’s why I go with Bahr over Reid Anderson for the opener.

Line-up

  1. Leody Taveras CF (S)
  2. Yonny Hernandez 2B (S)
  3. Curtis Terry 1B (R)
  4. Sam Huff C (R)
  5. Sherten Apostel 3B (R)
  6. Anderson Tejeda SS (S)
  7. Andretty Cordero DH (R)
  8. Josh Altmann LF (R)
  9. Steele Walker CF (L)

Filling out this line-up card wasn’t that hard but I struggled and ended up flipping Curtis Terry and Apostel. Cordero could have been higher as well but I wanted to mix it so it wouldn’t be to right-handed heavy, which is still is. There really isn’t a break for an opposing pitcher. The RoughRiders line-up should be among the best in Double-A.
