The Rangers made two notable promotions on the pitching side of the farm today, moving right-hander Aidan Curry up to Triple-A and right-hander Brock Porter up to Double-A.
Aidan Curry Promoted to Triple-A Round Rock
Aidan Curry, 24, has been promoted from Double-A Frisco to Triple-A Round Rock.
Prior to his promotion to Frisco, with Hub City, Curry pitched 31.0 innings with a 3.48 ERA, 18 walks and 42 strikeouts.
In Frisco this season, Curry posted a 5.08 ERA across 56.2 innings with 25 walks and 71 strikeouts.
Combined across both levels, he has a 4.52 ERA in 87.2 innings, 113 strikeouts and a walk total that will need to come down more but he did reduce his walk rate in Frisco. This also marks the fourth consecutive season Curry has recorded at least 100 strikeouts.
Left-handed hitters have managed just a .177/.265/.293 line against Curry this season, an .558 OPS. Right-handed hitters have fared better, hitting .281/.367/.444 for an .811 OPS.
Curry has also been sharper of late. Over his last three outings (two starts), he has a 1.80 ERA across 15.0 innings with 8 walks and 16 strikeouts.

Brock Porter Promoted to Double-A Frisco
Brock Porter, 23, has been promoted from High-A Hub City to Double-A Frisco.
In Hub City, Porter went 7-2 with a 3.81 ERA across 59.0 innings. Command remains a work in progress, as he issued 43 walks against 69 strikeouts. For his minor league career, Porter has thrown 216.0 innings with a 3.42 ERA, 149 walks and 261 strikeouts.
Outside of one start this season, Porter has worked exclusively out of the bullpen over the last two seasons.
Porter has been a name to watch since the Rangers drafted him, and his move to Frisco puts him within driving distance for in-person coverage going forward.
