Frisco, TX – The Frisco RoughRiders celebrated Independence Day with a bang on Tuesday night, drawing a crowd of 12,045 fans, the second-highest in franchise history. The RoughRiders defeated the Midland RockHounds 6-3 in front of a sell-out crowd, which included a number of patriotic festivities. The team brought the fireworks, and the fans brought the enthusiasm.
The game itself was a close one, with the RoughRiders trailing 2-1 heading into the sixth inning. That’s when Luisangel Acuña gave the Riders the lead with a two-run single in the bottom of the 6th.
RHP Josh Stephan (4.15) made his Double-A debut for the RoughRiders, pitching 4.1 innings and allowing two runs on five hits. Stephan struck out five batters and walked one.
The RoughRiders added two more runs in the seventh and one more in the eighth to secure the victory.

- Evan Carter went 1-for-4 at the plate but had an outfield assist at home plate. It was his 6th assist of the season.
The RoughRiders improved to 4-3 to start the second half of the season. They’ll need to stack up a few more wins if they want to defend their Texas League Championship.

The RoughRiders will return to action tonight, when they host the Midland RockHounds (Athletics)at Riders Field for game two of the series. RHP Ryan Garcia is set to start for the RoughRiders.
