Soddies by Morning: Amarillo Sweeps the Weekend in Midland
Never more appropriate to bring this back, "That's what we call a winning streak." It has happened before, but this is the first time this season. The Amarillo starting pitchers stepped up this weekend, and paired that with some timely timely hitting turned into a trifecta of wins. Following a heartbreaking 2-0 loss despite another great Roman Angelo road start on Thursday, the Sod Poodles starter Jose Cabrera picked up where Angelo had left off. Cabrera took the mound after picking up his firs

Once again when Amarillo needed him most, Spencer Giesting shoved, but tonight he had some help early. The Sod Poodles swapped identities on Sunday afternoon, but unfortunately it was more of the same in the series finale against Springfield. Amarillo fell to 2-7 after a 17-12 loss on Sunday. The game went like most of the 6-Games this week. The Cardinals attacked starting pitching early again. Springfield wasted no time getting to work scoring 4 in
Sod Poodles Bats Come Alive, Giesting Shines Again, Troy on a Tear
The streak is over. The Sod Poodles finally claimed their first home victory, and thanks to another great start from Spencer Giesting, and the bats absolutely exploading, it was never really in doubt. The Sod Poodles got exactly what they needed from Spencer Giesting last night. After a scoreless first outing in San Antonio, Giesting found himself the only Sod Poodles starter to start a victory. The Sod Poodles were in the midst of a 4 game losing streak, lasting since his start last Sunday in

The ninth inning woes continued in Hodgetown on Tuesday night for the Sod Poodles. In a game with five lead changes, Amarillo took a 9-8 lead into the 9th inning before Gerardo Gutierrez gave up 2 singles, 2 walks and eventually a go ahead sacrifice fly by outfielder Chase Davis, once again putting his fingerprints all over this series. Amarillo has now allowed 12 ninth inning runs in just three games (San Antonio did not have to bat in their two wins last series). The Sod Poodles' last shot
Soddies by Morning: Giestings Great Stuff and Conticello’s Big Blast Help Amarillo Enter the Win Column
The opening series is in the books for 2025 and the Sod Poodles are heading home with their first victory. Starter Spencer Giesting tossed a terrific 5 shutout innings on 79 pitches (51 strikes), and looked like he did towards the end of 2024. The left handed pitcher drafted out of Charlotte in 2022, struck out 5 and didn’t walk any of the 18 batters he faced en route to picking up his first victory of the year. Giesting attacked the zone early and it paid off on Sunday. The Sod Poodles had to
