The Frisco RoughRiders won 7-4 over the Arkansas Travelers last night. The win guarantees they at least split at series as they have won three out of the four games played so far. The Texas Rangers have announced their minor league players of the month for May, with three out of four spots going to players from the Frisco RoughRiders. The Rangers named winners for four awards: Player of the Month, Starting Pitcher of the Month, Relief Pitcher of the Month and Defender of the Month. RoughRiders drop game two against the Hooks
After winning game one on Tuesday, the RoughRiders dropped game two of the series with the Corpus Christi Hooks by a final of 7-5 in front of a crowd of 3,185. The RoughRiders move to 20-15 while the Hooks move to 13-22. Left-hander Avery Weems made his fifth start of the season. It was perhaps his best start of the season. The Tulsa Drillers haven't been kind to the Frisco RoughRiders during the RoughRiders road trip to ONEOK Field. The Drillers drilled the RoughRiders for 11 runs to win by a final of 11-1. The RoughRiders lost 14-11 in an extra innings (10) heartbreaker to the Amarillo Sod Poodles at Hodgetown. Had the RoughRiders won, they'd be in the post-season but the Sod Poodles played spoiler.
