Cristian Inoa wins South Atlantic League Player of the Week award

1st baseman Cristian Inoa, 23, led the league in hits and runs this week to win the South Atlantic League Player of the week award. Hickory won four out of the six games against the Rome Braves where Cristian Inoa had a .600 batting average with 12 hits, 3 home runs, 6 RBI, 22 total bases, 12 runs scored and a .652 on-base percentage. For the season, the infielder is hitting .304 with 9 home runs, 45 RBI, 2 steals with a .845 OPS. Congratulations on your award Cristian.

The Frisco RoughRiders have won of 3 out of 4 games. They hung on to win 10-7 against the Springfield Cardinals. This was the first time this season they have played a series against the Cardinals this season. In the bottom of the 9th Reliever Fernery Ozuna started the inning by giving up a single followed by a strikeout then allowed a single and a walk to load the bases with 1 out. Last night, the Frisco RoughRiders got timely hits and great pitching in their 6-0 victory over the San Antonio Missions. It was their eighth shutout of the season. There was a few firsts for the Hickory Crawdads last night. For the 1st time since throwing a no hitter against Delmarva on May 19, 2013, Hickory threw a combined 10 inning no-hitter. Last nights game was played almost in San Antonio in 101 degrees at gametime and went into extra innings where Frisco scored 4 runs in the 12th inning and held on for a 10-7 win.
