Today Rangers got some bad news about RH reliever Jose Leclerc has an elbow injury! Jeff Wilson from The Fort Worth Star Telegram reported on Twitter. This isn't the news that Ranger fans want to see for a number of reasons but at this point we can handle bad news. Top prospect, Josh Jung ( # 2 on our list) will be out six to eight weeks after suffering a stress fracture in his left foot. He will travel to Dallas to have surgery performed by Dr. Keith Heuer, which will be to put a screw in his foot. This morning the Texas Rangers made several training camp moves. Infielder Sherten Apostel was optioned to AAA Round Rock. Pitchers A.J. Alexy, Yerry Rodriguez and Catcher David Garcia are headed to Double-A Frisco. The Rangers also assigned to MiLB Workout Group Pitchers Hans Crouse, Fernery Ozuna, Alex Speas, Cole Winn. 2021 Frisco Classic All-Tournament team
The 2021 Frisco Classic was a success, especially for the Arizona Wildcats. They swept the classic going 4-0 and scored 55 runs in the process. The Dallas Baptist Patriots went 3-1. We saw some great plays made around the diamond all weekend. We selected one pitcher, one catcher, four infielders, 3 outfielders, one DH and one MVP. Beautiful Saturday for baseball. For game 5 of the Frisco Classic we've got a match-up between Dallas Baptist and the Arizona Wildcats. 2021 Minor League Affiliates For The Texas Rangers
The new year also brought some new shake-ups to the Texas Rangers Minor League system. Most notably, the Rangers regained the right to the Round Rock Express, who will be the team's Triple A affiliate for the season. They had previously been in this position from 2011-2018.
