Marah Mason
Marah Mason started out in Michigan as a Tigers fan but came to Texas and her Rangers as fast as she could. You’ll find her in Little Elm with her family, when they aren’t all at RoughRiders games. Besides baseball, Star Wars and all things MCU are her love languages.
The Prospect Times 2021 Fan of the Year: Shannon Krause
When The Prospect Times began their search for the fan of the year we thought there was a difficult task in front of us. Little did we know there would be unanimous nominations. All votes were for Shannon Krause, who you may not realize you already know from Wednesday visits to the Frisco Ballpark: She's the one in the Weiner Wednesday hat! Mason: Hi Shannon! What do you do for a living? Krause: I’m with FC Dallas. I don’t like soccer nearly as much! Mason: What do you do for FC Dallas? An
Not Your Daddy's Recap: Frisco Classic, Arizona vs. Oklahoma
Hey y'all! Welcome to a new season of "Not Your Daddy's Recap." If it's your first time know we do things a bit differently here. I'll bring you the highlights and whatever else grabs my frenetic attention. Grab a seat and settle in, this is a long one! When they coined the phrase “A perfect day for baseball” they obviously meant today because you could not ask for a better day. It’s sunny and 73 degrees with a slight wind toward the third baseline. Today is day 1 of the Frisco classic and
2021 Minor League Affiliates For The Texas Rangers
The new year also brought some new shake-ups to the Texas Rangers Minor League system. Most notably, the Rangers regained the right to the Round Rock Express, who will be the team's Triple A affiliate for the season. They had previously been in this position from 2011-2018. Previous affiliate, the Nashville Sounds, move on to the Milwaukee Brewers. Frisco and their RoughRiders will remain the Double A affiliate. It's hard to beat the closeness of the park to Arlington and they provide excelle
Youngster Update 9/23/2020
With five games left in the regular season I thought we'd check in on how some of our younger guys are doing. Wes Benjamin- This is Benjamin's first major league start. He does have 84 career minor league starts and has followed an opener this season. Got his first out on the second pitch of the game. Should have had his second on a grounder to IKF but the throw is low to Apostel. Scored an error. Strikes out the third batter. Escobar singles for the first D-Back hit of the night. Strikes ou
Not Your Daddy's Recap for 9/11/2020
Welcome to “Not Your Daddy's Recap” and week 1432 of being in quarantine. I don't know about you but I'm going stir crazy. Not only am I cooped up but I'm cooped up with a squad of children. Send margaritas! Tonight the Rangers face the A's, but the most exciting event is that Sam Huff has been called up. He's one of two players I've been waiting for to get the big call (the other: WHERE IS DEMARCUS EVANS?!?!?). He's a top prospect but the jump from single A to the Bigs is, well, a big one. Th
Not Your Daddy's Recap 9/4/2020
It's September and folks, I'm fiesty. The good; We got to keep Lance Lynn, Leody Taveras staying up in the big league, and Jose Trevino bumped up to starting catcher. The nasty: One could also argue keeping Lance Lynn, WHERE IN THE WORLD IS DeMARCUS EVANS, and virtual schooling my 11 and 12 year old boys. I'm not made for teaching, y'all. But I'll throw in some virtual schooling tips I've learned on this journey. Tonight the Rangers are in Seattle. Kyle Cody is making his MLB debut on the mound
Solak, Trevino look good despite loss
Today's loss was still a great game by Nick Solak and Jose Trevino. Solak had a phenomenal game today. He doubled in the second and scored a run, singled in the fourth and scored a run, and doubled in the sixth and scored. This was his third three-hit game and his eleventh multi-hit game of the year. Another fantastic game was had by Trevino. He had an RBI double in the second, advanced Solak to second on a ground out in the fourth, had an RBI ground out in the sixth, and a base hit to right
Not Your Daddy's Recap 8/28/2020
Hey y'all and welcome to “Not Your Daddy's Recap.” If you're new here, we do things a little differently. Don't expect a play-by-play, and I do happen to mention whatever crosses my mind. First, on a personal note, Happy Birthday to my dad. Love you! Tonight our Rangers take on the Dodgers. I don't know, I'm optimistic for tonight, and that rarely happens lately. To misquote Han Solo, “I've got a good feeling about this.” Grab a drink and settle in. Minor is on the mound for the Rangers, batt
Not your Daddy’s recap 8/22/2020
Hello y'all! I don't know about you but this team has me feeling weary right down to my bones. This week I went to an interactive aquarium with Kid 3 and swam with the stingrays. It is life-changing. We need some of their energy. We've lost six straight now, and I have no confidence that tonight won't be Number Seven as we face Seattle. We need a spark in our bats. Our top four rank 28th in batting average in the MLB. If we lose tonight I think it's time to call in the young guys from the Altern
Foscue Added To 60-Man
According to John Blake, Justin Foscue was added to the Texas Rangers 60-man player pool and he was assigned to the Alternate training site. Foscue was chosen 14th overall in the 2020 MLB draft by the Rangers. He plays second and third base. The R/R hander was at Mississippi State and competed for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team in 2019. Most of the Rangers prospects at the alternate site likely won't see any time in a game. They are there for work in what otherwise is a lost seaso
