Cole Winn and Cole Ragans make the All-Star Futures game

The Texas Rangers have a couple of Cole’s that figure to be part of their future. Both Cole Winn and Cole Ragans have been selected to the All-Star Futures Game.

Cole Winn, 21, was the Texas Rangers first round pick (15th overall) in 2018. He has been rock-solid for the Frisco RoughRiders this year. He’s been leading all of Double-A with a 0.78 WHIP (walks plus hits per inning pitched) and a .113 BAA (batting average against). In his 43.2 innings pitched he has a 2.27 earned run average and has issued 18 walks and struckout 49.

Cole Ragans, 23, was drafted by the Rangers in the 1st round (30th overall) in the 2016 draft. Ragans is coming off two Tommy John surgeries. What he is currently doing in High-A is amazing. He’s got a 1-2 record with a 3.48 earned run average in 41.1 innings pitched. His WHIP of 1.06 is the 6th best in High-A East. Opposing batters are hitting for a .212 average which puts him in 5th. He’s issued 13 walks and struckout 52 batters.

Cole Winn and Cole Ragans are the Rangers only players in the Futures game. Both will will be getting a promotion to the next level in short order.
