Around the Farm 4/14

Welcome to another edition of Around the Farm. This is a daily update taking you are the Texas Rangers farm system and going over the highlights of each game.

Let’s start with the Triple- A affiliate of the Texas Rangers.

Nashville Sounds (3-8)

Taylor Hearn (1-2, 3.86 ERA) got his 3rd start of the season today. He pitched 4 innings and allowed only 1 run on 2 hits. The strikeout pitch was working as he struck out 7 but he also walked 3. One of those walks, he issued with the bases loaded, walking in the run in the bottom of the 7th. He also had a wild pitch and hit a batter as well.

C.D. Pelham (18.90 ERA) didn’t record an out and allowed 2 runs on 3 walks.

Brady Feigl (1.42 ERA) pitched 2 scoreless innings. He allowed 2 hits and struck out 1.

To the offense…

Willie Calhoun is starting to get hot. He went 3-5 with 2 runs and hit his 2nd home run of the year. He is now hitting .286 his OPS is .900.

Andy Ibanez went 1-4 with a home run and 2 RBI. He is hitting .40

Alex Kowalczyk drove in the only RBI for the RoughRiders. He went 1-3 and is hitting .333.

Eliezer Alvarez was ejected by home  thetplate umpire. I didn’t see it but my guess is due to arguing the strike zone.

The Wood Ducks are the Rangers High Affiliate and they shut out the Hillcats 8-0.

Noah Bremer (1-0, 3.72 ERA) pitched 5 innings and allowed 5 hits and walked 1 and struck out 2 but kept them scoreless.

Pitched a scoreless inning striking out 1.

The line-up

Leody Taveras wet 1-4 with a run, 1 RBI, 1 walk and 1 strikeout. His average is .395 and .926 OPS.

Anderson Tejeda has been on a tear recently. As you can see below he had a good day at the plate. He ended up going 2-5 with 2 runs and 3 RBI. He owns a .395 AVG and 1.110 OPS on the year and is in line for a promotion later on.
