The Frisco RoughRiders 2021 schedule has been released. That is music to our ears. There has been no baseball played in front of a paying fan since September of 2019. That changed in March with the Frisco College Baseball Classic and then there was the Lone Star Diamond Classic.

The Frisco RoughRiders 2021 season starts at home on May 4th, 2021. We’re thinking Star Wars theme.

The schedule this year consists of 6-game series that will begin every Tuesday. Each Monday will be an off-day to accommodate teams travel. There will be 20 series.

There are 120 games with 60 at home and 60 away.

The Frisco RoughRiders 2021 schedule starts with a lengthy 12-game homestand at Dr Pepper Ballpark.

The first series starts on Tuesday May 4, 2021 against the Midland RockHounds, the Oakland Athletics affiliate.

The second series will start on Tuesday May 11 against the Corpus Christi Hooks, the Houston Astros affiliate.

The RoughRiders first road trip will be to San Antonio to play against the San Antonio Missions, the San Diego Padres affiliate at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. In 2019, the Padres affiliate was the Amarillo Sod Poodles.

The month of June will feature 20 home games, which is the most of any month on the schedule.

Promotional schedules and game times are expected to be released in the coming weeks. According to the RoughRiders release, game times are largely expected to remain the same as previous years with evening games starting around 7:05 PM.

There will be plenty of chances to come out to Dr Pepper Ballpark this year, just don’t forget your mask. As Covid-19 restrictions ease, you can bet the mask requirements will be lifted as well. There have been talks of the RoughRiders allowing more than 30 percent capacity at Dr Pepper Ballpark to start the season but the exact number is still being discussed.

The competition this year is sure to be tough.

The San Antonio Missions are now the Double-A affiliate for the Padres. According to MLB.com the Padres have the sixth best farm system in the Majors. Of course that doesn’t mean that all of their talent is going to be at the AA level.

The Sod Poodles have the ninth ranked farm system.

There are two new teams, Wichita Wind Surge and San Antonio Missions that are joining the Teams that made up the Texas League . Click here to read about it.
