As expected, the Round Rock Express rejoin the Texas Rangers as they accepted the invitation to become the Triple-A affiliate. The Round Rock Express is owned by the Nolan Ryan led group, Ryan Sanders Baseball. Welcome back to family Nolan and the Express.

The Round Rock Express were previously part of the Texas Rangers family from 2011-2018. That is when they aligned with the Houston Astros organization which made sense, especially due to proximity.

The Round Rock Express is named after Nolan Ryan who is known as “The Ryan Express” during his playing days.

As you can see in the tweet by John Blake, the development license is good for 10 years.

It’ll be interesting to see how the rosters will start unfolding now that these licenses are agreed to. It may have been hinted that the Rangers may assign Josh Jung to Round Rock to start the year.
