RoughRiders win on Mother’s Day

The RoughRiders win on Mother’s Day, giving all in attendance an extra special gift. Right-hander Tim Brennan got the start for the Riders against Midland (Oakland A’s) and right-hander Zac Reininger.

This win secured their first series win of the year.

On the mound

Tim Brennan pitched one scoreless inning and was relieved by A.J. Alexy.

Alexy (1-0, 3.00) pitched three innings, allowing a run on a solo home run to first baseman Jonah Bride. He walked two and struckout two.

Right-hander, Joe Gatto earned a hold for his 3 scoreless innings. He gave up one hit and struck out four.

Fernery Ozuna shut things down by pitching two scoreless and hitless innings. He struck out two in the process and earned his first save of the season.

At the plate

Jordan Procyshen, who pitched the night before, played 1st base after he replaced Sherten Apostel and Diosbel Arias was switched to 3rd. He went 3 for 3 at the plate with 1 RBI and has a 1.000 OPS on the season now in his 7 at bats.

Ryan Dorow has been hot the last couple of games. He went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and a walk.

Diosbel Arias (.313) had the other RBI for the RoughRiders on a sac-fly in the bottom of the 8th.

The Riders won 4-1 and are off to a 4-2 start to the season. They play the Corpus Christi Hooks (Astros) starting Tuesday. Mondays are off days.
