Frisco, TX - There it is, the power of Sam Huff. A crowd of 3,583 was on hand to witness the Frisco RoughRiders lose in 10 innings 7-6 to the Springfield Cardinals, the Double-A affiliate of the St Louis Cardinals. They also saw the mammoth home run that Sam Huff hit that they will never forget. It traveled 495 feet and exited off the bat at 111 mph. We knew the losing streak wouldn't last much longer. The RoughRiders are back in the win column after losing 3-games in a row. They won by a final of 8-0 over the Arkansas Travelers (Mariners). They move to 37-20 on the season while the Travelers move to 29-27. On the mound Right-hander Noah Bremer, was just activated from the IL and made his 1st start of the season, replacing Cole Winn who was originally scheduled to pitch. The RoughRiders lost by a final of 5-1 to the Arkansas Travelers (Mariners). The RoughRiders are on the wrong side of a streak, as this is their third loss in a row. Their record is 36-20 and they still have a commanding 8.5 game lead over the 2nd place San Antonio Missions. I don't say that with too much confidence as that lead can disappear quickly with 64 more games to play this season. A day after failing to extend their team record 11-game win streak to 12-games, the RoughRiders get back into the win column. They won 4-2 over the Midland RockHounds (Athletics) and move to 34-17 on the season. The RockHounds couldn't keep up and now are 23-28 on the season. The RoughRiders have won 10 games in a row. That's something that isn't easy to do but yet they've done it. They won by a final of 4-3 and swept the series against the San Antonio Missions (Padres). Hans Crouse started for the RoughRiders and pitched one inning. He walked CJ Abrams and then gave up a two-run home run on a 2-2 pitch to Eguy Rosario, who had the interference called against him in the Riders 5-4 walk-off win on Saturday. The 13-14 Naturals came to town in tow with the # 7 ranked prospect in all of baseball, Bobby Witt Jr. He made his presence known in the top of the 1st when he took the 3rd pitch if his at-bat deep off Cole Winn, the Rangers top pitching prospect. Hans Crouse, the right-hander who's ranked as one of the Rangers top pitching prospects, took the mound in Frisco for the first time last night. I would have guessed he would have pitched four innings since he's pitched an extra inning in each of his first three starts. Youth Movement: Davis Wendzel & others added to 60-man
This afternoon our Rangers made several moves with their 60-man player pool. They started the youth movement by assigning Davis Wendzel along with outfielders Bubba Thompson and Steele Walker, to the alternate site.
